Three die in crash
A taxi driver and two passengers lost their lives on Friday evening, 31 October, after being involved in an accident that left 12 others seriously injured.
The accident which occurred shortly after 7pm, took place on Allen Street, outside Century Casino. According to Capt Shooz, an ambulance had been travelling into town and just after it crossed the robot, outside Century Casino, drove into the back of a bakkie which then overturned. The ambulance then attempted to swerve and collided into the side of a minibus, which had been travelling towards the township. The minibus lost control and hit a robot. The taxi driver and one passenger died on the scene, while one of the victims was rushed to hospital where she later died.
"I was driving along Allen Street when the ambulance overtook me, the next thing I saw was the ambulance hitting the bakkie and the taxi colliding into the robot.
