Max My Ride is proud to present Northern KZN’s largest motoring fiasco; the Max My Ride/ Ladysmith Motor Show.

Running on the 25th and 26th of October 2008 at the Ladysmith Sports Complex; it will surely be an event that will be remembered in the town for years to come, and will definitely put Ladysmith on the South African motoring map. The show will comprise of an IASCA Sound Off for all those audiophiles out there; a Dyno Challenge to test the power of your vehicle and see who is the King of Power, as well as the Rock Raceway drifters who are going to be turning things sideways with their amazing driving skills which is headed by Florin Cozmuta who is SA's No.1 Drift Champion.

Mageshaka - the King of Spin & his crew will be there to show off their remarkable talent as they climb out of their BMW's while it's spinning! This is a real crowd pleaser and an amazing stunt, which is a first for KZN. Other highlights will include the Max My Ride Show and Shine contest where only the most dazzling and neatest of cars will prevail.

What alot I got!

What is the average litter a mouse produces? According to Sylva Francis, between four and 10. Although her mouse showed unnatural obesity during her pregnancy, Sylva thought the mouse might give birth to more than the average litter.

A day before the mouse went into labour, Sylva reported that it was so fat, it could not even walk. Monday evening, the mouse started giving birth to her litter. One, two, three...nine, ten, eleven...

And so the mouse was in labour all through the night. Tuesday morning, Sylva was shocked to see the mouse had given birth to an astonishing 22 babies, something she regarded as a record!

Mom-daughter staying suspects behind bars

Police commissioner for Newcastle SAPS Director Jula is thrilled with his officers on the ground after a crack police team arrested all eight suspects in connection with two murders in the town’s Meeu Street in Aviary Hill, last week.

A 45-year-old women and her 12-year-old daughter were brutally slain by the suspects who entered their home while the woman’s husband was abroad in Taiwan on a business trip. The incident took place in the early hours of last Wednesday morning. A relative went to check on the mother and daughter but became suspicious when he noticed that the latch on the gate was slightly removed from its fitting. He knew the gate stayed closed, no matter what. He immediately notified a friend to assist him. Upon entering the garage they noticed that there were items strewn all over the floor. They immediately summoned the local SAPS to investigate as the BMW was broken into and a radio was missing from the vehicle. When the local police arrived, they found the mother and daughter lying dead in the passage of the house. The mother was strangled to death and the daughter was hanged. Police also suspected sexual abuse, but it could not be confirmed.

Streetwire sound blast for junkies

Saturday proved to be loads of fun for sound junkies at the Streetwire Sound Show.

Many interested parties participated to show the crowds what their cars were made of. People from as far as Johannesburg and Durban attended. Many from Ladysmith were also seen at the show.

Apart from the sound competition, a show and shine was also part of the glamour of the day as well as a beat boxing competition. Judges, Zeez and Bennies ensured all cars received a fair ’trial’ in the show and shine competition.

Those who attended did not go home empty handed. Many sponsors including the Pro Fit team contributed to the prizes given out not only to contestants, but also to the audience. Abed Kader from Streetwire promised the crowd that this sound show was just one of many to come.

Ablution facilities anger locals

The use of the bucket system in the toilets of Newcastle has made people lose hope in their municipality.

Residents and taxi drivers are forced to use these toilets at the rank in Newcastle. They are unhappy about the municipality not improving the facilities.

Themba Jele said these toilets were not safe and "always dirty" and the municipality "does not clean these toilets". He said people who used the toilets were open to health hazards.

A taxi owner said they were not happy about the untidy toilets, yet they were paying rent every month to the municipality, adding that the shelters were derelict while politicians and municipal officials were "sitting in offices with air conditioning" and they had no idea of "what is happening in the community".

John Mayer on Split with Jennifer

John Mayer reportedly confirmed his split with Jennifer Aniston, announcing that the couple broke up due to "different chemistry." "Jennifer is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I’ve ever met. I ended a relationship to be alone because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something is just not right," confided John. Reports of the couple’s break up surfaced last week on the heels of marriage rumours. Jen and John had dated for several months making their public debut as a couple at a charity dinner in June with Aniston’s pal Courtney Cox and her husband, David Arquette.

John continued, saying the break up wa normal. "It’s the most normal thing in the world," he said. "There is no lying there’s no cheating ...Its about going out with somebody being truthful on the way in, being truthful in the middle and being truthful on the way out.
