Warning to business owners

The criminal element is on the increase in Newcastle with local businesses becoming the target of an armed robbery was the Newcastle Watch Centre.

Alfred Nunez, owner of Newcastle Watch Centre said that around 9am on a Wednesday morning a suspicious looking male entered the store. A sales lady assisted him but said that he did not look too keen on purchasing anything

Newcastle Entrepreneur Is IFA Legend

Nathi Mbatha of Newcastle has won the IFA Legend award for Top Earner in KwaZulu-Natal for his persistence and commitment to his business during an awards ceremony in which top-notch South African big band Mango Groove put the gloss on the Independent Field Advertisers’ first major awards ceremony rally in Durban at the weekend.

Dynamic front singer Claire Johnston, her talented back-up vocalists and the brilliant brass trio and the rest of the ensemble rocked Durban’s new auditorium at the International Convention Centre on Saturday.

Approximately 2500 IFAs celebrated their top regional performers amidst much song and dance, as Mango Groove and later Jub Jub turned on the musical heat and raised the spirits of the audiences who packed the indoor oval to the roof. "IFA is all about people and we are thrilled that our classic combination of a big-band blast and the colourful and festive aura turned IFA’s major rally in KwaZulu-Natal into a resounding success.
