Angry protesters make their voices heard

"We are prepared to die for our money..." were the words of an angry protesters as the Madadeni Demaracation Forum took to the streets of Newcastle in protest of the poor service delivery and corruption within the Municipality. Chairperson of the forum Sikhumbuzo Kuluse said over R10 million had been stolen from municipal coffers but to date no arrests have been made.

Lack of jobs, poor roads and infrastructure are just some of the complaints that were highlighted on the placards.

Textile Industry grinds to a halt

Union workers in the textile industry, took to the streets on Tuesday, September 15 to voice their grievances against some factory owners.

Some of the complaints listed were poor working conditions, unfair treatment and low wage. Workers are unhappy with the conditions of the factories alleging that they work in ares with little to no ventilation. Dust is another major complaint , and they also allege that inhalation of these dust particles are causing health complications for them.
